How does the pneumatic conveyor work?
Pneumatic conveyors can operate by utilizing positive pressure or vacuum. In systems that utilize positive pressure, the material is propelled forward by the elevated pressure on the input side. Conversely, vacuum conveyors employ suction on the output side to draw the material through the pneumatic conveying system.

The material is easily transferred through the pneumatic conveying system due to the use of positive pressure or vacuum, depending on the system’s design. This allows for quick and efficient transportation, without the need for excess labor or equipment on the output side.

These systems are comprised of four basic elements:

a vacuum source,
a material feed device,
a conveying line and
an air-material separator.

Throughout its operation, the system creates a vacuum to transfer conveyed material from the feeding point into the conveying line and eventually into the container. As the material moves through the system, filters are used to prevent dust and small particles from entering the pump and surrounding area.

A compressed air shock tank is also utilized during the process. At the end of each cycle, the bottom valve opens and the material is released into a designated hopper or equipment piece.
