380V Tubular Chain Conveyor Without Dust Collector – Reliable Material Transport Solution

Chain Drive Pneumatic Conveying System: How It Works for Horizontal and Vertical Material Transport

The chain drive system is a highly efficient method for conveying materials through a closed pipeline. This type of system uses the power of chains and disks to move solid materials from one location to another. It operates by utilizing the internal friction of the material and the dynamic force applied by the chain and disks to transport materials either horizontally or vertically. Let’s take a closer look at how it works in each direction:

1. Horizontal Material Conveying

When the material needs to be conveyed horizontally, the solid material is pushed forward by a series of rotating disks that are connected to the drive chain. These disks play a crucial role in propelling the material through the pipeline.

In this system, the movement of the material relies on the balance between the internal friction of the material layer (the friction between individual particles of the material) and the external friction (the friction between the material and the pipe walls). When the internal friction within the material layer becomes larger than the external friction acting between the material and the pipe wall, the material moves forward.

As the disks rotate, they continuously push the material along the closed pipeline, maintaining a stable and uniform material flow. The closed design of the pipeline ensures that the material is securely contained during transport, avoiding any potential spillage or loss of product.

2. Vertical Material Conveying

Vertical conveying is a bit more complex due to the influence of gravity. When materials are conveyed vertically, the system relies on the chain-driven disks to lift the material upward. As the disks push the material, the material’s gravity acts to pull it downwards, creating a challenge for vertical material transport.

To overcome this, a bottom feeding mechanism is employed. This mechanism prevents the upper material from falling down by generating horizontal side pressure, which, in turn, increases the internal friction within the material layer.

As the internal friction between the particles becomes greater than the combined effect of the material’s own gravity and the external friction from the pipe wall, the material will begin to rise along the pipeline. This upward movement continues as long as the internal friction remains dominant over the opposing forces, allowing for a continuous flow of material in the vertical direction.
